Why we say mời.

In a Vietnamese home, a guest never leaves without something sweet. Mời is how a host says: please, have some.

Every Hill House piece begins there.

Founders' note

A designer and a pastry chef.

Hill House was founded by Thao and Linh, two Bay Area mothers who couldn't find a snack worth trusting.

We both grew up with nougat. But the classic European kind was always too hard and too crunchy to really enjoy. So we went back to the kitchen and invested in a new recipe: soft and chewy, lighter, and less sweet, with toasted nuts and real fruit in every piece.

— Thao & Linh

The eyes, the brain, and the hands

Thao

The eyes and the brain

Founder & designer. If it looks beautiful, she saw it first. If it's a little bit genius, she probably thought of it in the shower.

Linh

The hands

Co-founder & pastry chef. If it tastes this good, she folded it. Every batch, every piece, every tin.

How it's made

Small batches.

By hand.

Fresh from our kitchen.

Slow down. Have a piece.
